
Freeholder John CurleyJohn P. Curley is the newest member of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. As a fourth generation Monmouth County resident John is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and received a BA from Thomas Edison State College in Government. He is a former Red Bank Councilman who served for over five years, until he moved to Middletown. As a Red Bank Councilmember John fought for the people of Red Bank. Some of his largest accomplishments are fought for a change in time of council meetings to increase public participation, advocated zero based budgeting, and spearheaded pay-to-play ordinances for the town. He works for his family business Jim Curley GMC, Buick, and Pontiac, which is located in Lakewood, NJ.
Governor Chris ChristieChris Christie has a deep affection and strong commitment to New Jersey. Born in Newark and raised in Livingston, Chris has lived in New Jersey his entire life. Christie was appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey in 2002. As the chief federal law enforcement officer in New Jersey, Christie earned praise from leaders in both parties and drew national attention for his efforts in battling political corruption, corporate crime, human trafficking, gangs, terrorism and polluters. Christie led a widely acclaimed charge against public corruption. Regardless of party affiliation or political influence, when laws were broken, Christie took action. His office racked up an astonishing record - winning convictions or guilty pleas from over 130 public officials - both Republican and Democrat - without losing a single case.
Assemblyman David WolfeAssemblyman David Wolfe is presently serving in his eighth term in the New Jersey General Assembly representing the 10th legislative district. He currently serves as Assistant Republican Leader. Assemblyman Wolf served on the Brick Township Council from 1976 until 1991, and was council president from 1980 to 1981 and from 1987 to 1988. He is a member of many organizations and commissions, including the Joint Committee on Public Schools and the Governor's Advisory Panel on Higher Education Restructuring. He is chairman of the Commission on Business Efficiency of the Public Schools, a board member or Ocean Federal Foundation, and a former chairman of the State Beach Erosion Commission. Assemblyman Wolfe has been honored with the Association of Retarded Citizens Humanitarian Award, and the Ocean County College Alumni Distinguished Service Award. In 1995, Assemblyman Wolfe was named Brick Township's Republican of the Year.
Assemblyman Declan O’ScanlonAssemblyman Declan O’Scanlon has served since January 8, 2008 in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he represents the 12th legislative district. He serves on the Budget Committee and the Military and Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Assemblyman O’Scanlon was a member of the Little Silver Borough Council from 1994 to 2007. He previously served as a Board member of the Governor’s Highway Traffic Safety Advisory Council. He has served on the board of Love, Inc, a non-profit charitable organization, since 1997 and has served as board president since 2002. He is the Chief Executive Officer of FSD Enterprises LLC of Red Bank, NJ, a telecommunications consulting firm.
Assemblywoman Mary Pat AngeliniAfter taking her oath of office on January 8, 2008, to serve in the General Assembly representing the 11th legislative district, Assemblywoman Angelini was appointed to the Assembly Health and Senior Service Committee and the Commerce and Economic Development Committee. Since 1992, she has been the executive director of Prevention First, a nonprofit agency which provides substance abuse and violence prevention programs to the youth of Monmouth County. Assemblywoman Angelini has served as president of the New Jersey Prevention Network and as a member of the Leadership Council for the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America. She was appointed by various Governors of the State of New Jersey to serve on the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. She is involved in other planning and policy boards including the Monmouth Ocean Development Council and the Asbury Park Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, she was appointed to the New Jersey Human Rights Commission.
Assemblyman Dave RibleAssemblyman Dave Rible of Wall Township was elected to represent the 11th Legislative District on November 6, 2007. He was chosen by his fellow Assembly members to serve as the Assistant Minority Whip. He also serves on the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee, the Assembly Homeland Security and State Preparedness Committee, and is a member of the State Fire Safety Commission.
A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Assemblyman Rible is a devoted and accomplished community and civic leader. He is a former captain and president of the Belmar Fire Department and is still an active member. He served as President of the Wall Republican Club and the Southern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce. He has been involved with the Belmar First Aid Squad, the Boy Scouts of America and Wall Helps its People. Assemblyman Rible also served on the Wall Township Planning Board from 2000-2007.
Assemblywoman Amy HandlinAssemblywoman Amy Handlin has represented the 13th legislative district in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2006. She is a member of the Education and Judiciary Committees, as well as the Joint Committee on Public Schools. Assemblywoman Handlin has sponsored many government ethics reform bills, including the 2009 Fair and Clean Elections Pilot Project Act, the Comprehensive Anti-nepotism Act, legislation requiring the forfeiture of public office for political officials accepting illegal contributions, and others. She served on the Middletown Council from 1987 to 1990, when she was elected to serve as a Freeholder on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. She served in that capacity until 2005. Assemblywoman Handlin is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Monmouth University and a former Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Public Issues. She is also the author of the 1998 book, “Whatever Happened to the Year of the Woman?”
Assemblywoman Caroline CasagrandeAssemblywoman Caroline Casagrande is the youngest member of New Jersey’s 213th Legislature, and the youngest Assemblywoman ever elected in New Jersey. She began serving as a legislator on January 8, 2008. She presently serves on the Assembly Judiciary and State Government committees. Her political career began during her college years, when Assemblywoman Casagrande was elected Student Body President of Penn State. Soon after, she launched her legal career between semesters of law school, clerking at the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Division of Law. After her graduation from law school, Assemblywoman Casagrande clerked for the Honorable Robert O’Hagan of the New Jersey Superior Court, Civil Division in Freehold. Assemblywoman Casagrande served as a partner in the firm of Menna, Supko and Casagrande in Shrewsbury and as municipal attorney to Manalapan Township and special counsel to Fair Haven.
Assemblyman Samuel ThompsonAssemblyman Samuel Thompson has served in the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 13th legislative district, since 1998. He served as the Assistant Republican Leader from 2004-2005. He presently serves on the Appropriations Committee, the Human Services Committee, and the Joint Committee on Housing Affordability. He has sponsored numerous pieces of legislation during his tenure in the Assembly, including legislation impacting grandparent’s rights such as the Grandparents’ Court Liason Program and the Grandparents’ Resource Center Pilot Program. Assemblyman Thompson has served on various boards including the New Jersey Advisory Council on Elder Care since 1998, the Continuing Care Advisory Council from 1998-2002 and on the New Jersey State Council for Adult Literacy Services from 2000-2002. He was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000.
Assemblyman James HolzapfelAssemblyman James W. Holzapfel was sworn in to the Assembly on August 15, 1994 after being chosen by the Republican County Committee members of the 10th District to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Virginia Haines. He won a special election for the remaining year of the unexpired term on November 8, 1994 and has been elected to full terms six times. Assemblyman Holzapfel has served as a member and past chairman of the Joint Committee on Ethical Standards and as past chairman of the Governor's Study Commission on Parole. He has had various appointments and memberships to civic and professional organizations including the Law Enforcement Study Commission, Governor's Advisory Council on Juvenile Justice and the International Narcotics Enforcement Officers Association.
Assemblyman Ronald DancerSince 2002, Assemblyman Ronald S. Dancer has served in the New Jersey Legislature, representing the 30th Legislative District. He presently serves on the Labor Committee and the Committee on Tourism and Gaming. Assemblyman Dancer served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1969 to 1971. He has been the Mayor of Plumstead Township since 1990 and also serves on the Ocean County Senior Services Advisory Council, the Ocean County Natural Lands and Farmland Advisory Committee and the Ocean County Board of Social Services. In addition, Assemblyman Dancer was a member of the New Jersey Horse Racing Commission from 1999 to 2002.
