John P. Curley is the newest member of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. As a fourth generation Monmouth County resident John is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and received a BA from Thomas Edison State College in Government. He is a former Red Bank Councilman who served for over five years, until he moved to Middletown. As a Red Bank Councilmember John fought for the people of Red Bank. Some of his largest accomplishments are fought for a change in time of council meetings to increase public participation, advocated zero based budgeting, and spearheaded pay-to-play ordinances for the town. He works for his family business Jim Curley GMC, Buick, and Pontiac, which is located in Lakewood, NJ.

ROBERT CLIFTONFREEHOLDER
Since 2004, Freeholder Robert Clifton has served on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. As a Freeholder, Mr. Clifton oversees the Finance Department, the Purchasing Department and Information Technology. He was the Mayor of Matawan Borough from 1996 until 2005. In addition, he has served on the borough’s unified Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Board of Health and the Monmouth County Board of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Services. He also has served as chairman of the Bayshore Conference of Mayors. In 2006, 2008 and 2010, he served as deputy director of the Board of Chosen Freeholders. Mr. Clifton has been employed by Comcast Cable Corp. as Director of Government and Community Affairs since 2001.

LILLIAN BURRYFREEHOLDER
Lillian Burry has served on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders since 2006. In 2008, she served as Freeholder Director, the first woman in County history to be elected to this position. Under her leadership, the Board made many improvements to the County government, including strict oversight of spending and budget practices. Importantly, the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders was the only county government in the State of New Jersey that did not raise taxes in 2008. Lillian Burry served three terms on the Colts Neck Township Committee, where she served as mayor, deputy mayor and committeewoman. In Matawan, Lillian Burry was the first woman elected to the Borough Council. Freeholder Burry serves on the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Planning Authority. She has secured 400 acres of Open Space and Recreational Facilities and saved the Veterans Hospital. She has been in the forefront of objecting to the privitization of housing on N.W.S. Earle.

SHAUN GOLDENSHERIFF
Shaun Golden, an experienced law enforcement and public administration enforcement leader, is the Monmouth County Sheriff. Before becoming Sheriff he was a law enforcement officer for 18 years, serving as a police officer with the Colts Neck Police Department, and then with the Toms River Police Department. Golden worked as a certified paramedic for MONOC, serving Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and was a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He holds a Masters Degree in Administration from Seton Hall University and is a NJ Certified Public Manager and an adjunct professor at Monmouth University with the Department of Political Science and Public Policy.

M. CLAIRE FRENCHCOUNTY CLERK
Since 2002, M. Claire French has served as the Monmouth County Clerk. She was the Vice Chairman of the State Local Finance Board from 1996 to 2002, and presided over the Monmouth County Improvement Authority from 1986 to 1996. She served as both Mayor and as Committee member in Wall Township from 1979 to 1986. She is a former member of the Meridian Hospital System and currently serves as Chair of Meridian Hospital System's Government and Community Relations Committee. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of InfoAge Learning Center and of Central Jersey Blood Bank. She is active in many of the Chambers of Commerce located in Ocean and Monmouth Counties. County Clerk French served on both the Wall Township and Monmouth County Planning Boards and was President of her State Association of Constitutional Officials. She was a charter member of the Wall Township Foundation for Educational Excellence and was a former Regional Director for Bank of New York.

ROSEMARIE PETERSSURROGATE
Rosemarie D. Peters, Esq. is responsible for the administration of the services offered by the Surrogates Court. In addition, she serves as Clerk to Superior Court, Chancery Division, Probate Part, and Clerk to Family Part for adoptions.
Surrogate Peters was a member of the Middletown Township Committee for 18 years, four of them as Mayor and three as Deputy Mayor. She is also a former member of the Middletown Township Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. She initiated and chaired the township’s Open Space Preservation Committee and is the founder, past president, and a current trustee of the Middletown Township Cultural and Arts Council.
Surrogate Peters is a past member of the Executive Board and Legislative Review Committee of the NJ State League of Municipalities. She is also a member of the Middletown Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
