JOE KYRILLOS
SENATOR, D-13
Senator Joseph M. Kyrillos, Jr. began serving New Jersey's 13th Legislative District, representing parts of Monmouth and Middlesex counties, since 1988 when he was elected to the General Assembly. Prior to his legislative service, Senator Kyrillos was special assistant to the U.S. Secretary of the Interior. After spending two terms in the Assembly, he was elected to the Senate where he is currently serving his sixth term. Senator Kyrillos sits on both the Senate Economic Growth committee and the Judiciary committee. He served as the Majority Conference Leader from 1997 to 2002. Additionally Senator Kyrillos was Chairman of the Republican State Committee from 2001 to 2004, and New Jersey State Chairman of Romney for President in 2007 and 2008. Senator Kyrillos has been a staunch advocate on behalf of the business community and has both sponsored and supported various legislation to protect our enviroment, including the Environmental Infrastructure Trust promoting eco-tourism in New Jersey.

SAMUEL THOMPSON
ASSEMBLYMAN, D-13
Assemblyman Samuel Thompson has served in the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 13th legislative district, since 1998. He served as the Assistant Republican Leader from 2004-2005. He presently serves on the Appropriations Committee, the Human Services Committee, and the Joint Committee on Housing Affordability. He has sponsored numerous pieces of legislation during his tenure in the Assembly, including legislation impacting grandparent’s rights such as the Grandparents’ Court Liason Program and the Grandparents’ Resource Center Pilot Program. Assemblyman Thompson has served on various boards including the New Jersey Advisory Council on Elder Care since 1998, the Continuing Care Advisory Council from 1998-2002 and on the New Jersey State Council for Adult Literacy Services from 2000-2002. He was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2000.

AMY HANDLIN
ASSEMBLYWOMAN, D-13
Assemblywoman Amy Handlin has represented the 13th legislative district in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2006. She is a member of the Education and Judiciary Committees, as well as the Joint Committee on Public Schools. Assemblywoman Handlin has sponsored many government ethics reform bills, including the 2009 Fair and Clean Elections Pilot Project Act, the Comprehensive Anti-nepotism Act, legislation requiring the forfeiture of public office for political officials accepting illegal contributions, and others. She served on the Middletown Council from 1987 to 1990, when she was elected to serve as a Freeholder on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. She served in that capacity until 2005. Assemblywoman Handlin is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Monmouth University and a former Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Public Issues. She is also the author of the 1998 book, “Whatever Happened to the Year of the Woman?”
