New Jersey Republican State Committee Chairman Jay Webber Issues Statement On Regional Unemployment Numbers

TRENTON - New Jersey Republican State Committee Chairman Jay Webber today issued the following statement concerning a new Bureau of Labor Statistics report on regional unemployment:

"The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics confirmed today that New Jersey has the worst unemployment in the region and is suffering disproportionately from the nation's economic downturn. Unemployment in New Jersey has reached nearly 10%, the worst in 33 years, and almost 200,000 jobs have been lost in the last year alone. Other states with friendlier business climates and lower tax rates continue to fare better than New Jersey. Still, Governor Corzine attempts to shirk responsibility for his failed policies. The truth is Governor Corzine has failed our state, our communities, and our families. His blame game should go on no longer."
